Bio

Name: Tom the Innkeeper at the Leaky Cauldron
Age: age is around 110, he doesn't really know himself

Physical features: He was first described as a "toothless wizened walnut," being very old and bald. I'm guessing he's around a hundred years old, scrawny-looking, and smiles a lot. He's naturally friendly, but not in the grandfather way, but in the way that you know he'll do anything you ask.

Personality: Tom is a servant by nature and therefore is humble, without being obsequious. He's met hundreds and thousands of all types of wizarding peoples, both important and those just passing by, and knows how to deal with them in a polite, orderly fashion. However, he's just a commoner, without much education (was taught all the spells he needed to know through growing up) at all and since he lacks a lot of schooling, his spelling and grammar are pretty terrible. He also laughs at nearly everything, but when he laughs, it's this "har har har" sound, like he's coughing or something.

Backstory: Tom's history is very faded. He grew up in a small, mountain village with his mother, father, and loads of siblings, only a few he keeps in contact with. They're, um, sort of unimportant, anyway, or this backstory will be EVEN LONGER. He grew up in a very common life until deciding to set off to London in his late teens. Going from job to job working as garbage cleaning and cook, he learned the basic needs of what he eventually brought to the Leaky Cauldron, which he began with his meager savings in his early thirties. At that time, he also met his future wife, who had stayed at the inn and it's a very lovely story if you care to ask him about it.

However, though they lived very enjoyable lives with and had a couple children, his wife was eventually killed in the first war against Voldemort (Tom was about fifty years old), along with his children. So Tom's been through hardships, but now, it's not something that even bothers him much since he's always been so distant with people in the first place. It isn't as if he lacks a personality, but he lacks attachment, which makes him a perfect innkeeper, as he meets many people on a daily basis. Therefore, even with supposed tragedies in his life, he's not really affected by any of this, except for the death of his wife, as she was the only person he had much of an attachment to.
